Opdracht

Implementation of asset Life-Cycle Assessment model with a general API-skeleton For grid operators the Life-Cycle Assessment model (LCA) is essential for quantifying the environmental impact of assets, as well as for making optimal investment decisions in energy transition. Since the last few years, Liander has been working on LCA models for different type of assets (e.g. switchgears, transformers, power cables, etc.). In order to fully benefit from these research-models in our daily decision-making process, a robust, efficient, and scalable API needs to be designed and implemented. To accelerate the digitalization process at Liander, a Python API skeleton was built, which can be used directly to develop a new API in a fast and professional way. In this project the student will - Study the LCA models and investigate how the models are applied by Liander. (The model is currently in Excel format). - Implement the LCA model in Python, based on the study mentioned above, with the generic Python API skeleton provided by Liander. Result of this project will be - Production code of an API in Python that can analyze LCA based on an API skeleton provided by Liander. - For one test case (e.g. power cables), compare the calculated results from the current models and the API. Skills preferred or willing to learn - Programming in Python - Containerization (e.g. with Docker and Kubernetes)
